It was dark, seven-thirty to be exact, when Noah calmly strolled under the bright, elegant moon. The calm winds gently stroked his long black hair as his chocolate brown eyes glanced around his surroundings. He always enjoyed taking long strolls at night while listening to music, although he was never so sure why.
Tonight, however, seemed to be different than all the other night strolls. For once, all the once busy prospering streets are dead silent and only have the company of the buzzing street lights that seem to flicker like a flame burning on a candlestick.
"Where on earth is everyone?" he pondered as he stood at a barren street corner. "It's never usually like this."
After thinking for a few minutes, Noah decided to just let it be and take the advantage of having some alone time while he still can. However, he felt pair of eyes watching him intensely as he slowly walked down the block.
"Hello?" he called out.
There was no reply.
"I must be imagining things," he muttered to himself as he began to walk down once more.
Noah could still sense the feeling of being watched in the back of his mind as he tried to mind his own business. He turned around, finding a pair of bright red eyes with its irises a mysterious shade of blue.
"Well hello there," he gave a small wave to the shadow creature. "I guess you're the one who's been following me."
The eyes blinked and stared at him before a low growl was emitted in the night air. Noah, unsure why or what caused the creature of the night to begin to growl at him, catiously backed away.
"Sorry if I made you angry," his lips quivered, "I don't mean to cause any harm whatsoever."
The creature continued to growl at him as its eyes began to intimidate him.
"I..uh..."
Noah knew he had to do something and something fast. He quickly found a large, old stick from the ground next to him and held it desperately as if it was his shield.
"Don't get any closer," he warned. "I have a..stick and I'm not afraid to use it."
"Is that a way you treat a poor, innocent, young girl like I?" a voice asked with a tone of hurt.
"Who's out there?" he questioned. "Show yourself!"
He hands shook as his eyes caught a figure slowly approaching towards him. A creature with sleek black fur and rings on her legs, tail, ears, and forhead appeared. She looked at Noah with her innocent red eyes with blue irises as she sat on his feet.
"What are you doing here umbreon?" he asked with a smile.
"I was going to ask you the same thing," the creature replied.
"What the?!" Noah jumped back. "Did you just talk?!"
"What's the matter? You're not afraid of a poor little umbreon like me, are you?" she asked in a flirtatious way.
"O-of course not," he trembled.
"You're cute," she giggled as she circled around him, her tail slowly wrapped around his leg.
"It's getting late and I think I should head on-OW!!"
Noah winced in pain and quickly looked down, finding a nasty bite the umbreon left.
"Jesus! What was that for?!" he yelled angrily at her.
"A little something something I have in store," she grimanced.
Noah felt the cold sweat accumulating all over his body as his skin grew pale.
Rabies? he thought to himself as he began to tremble. Why do I feel so weak?
He collapsed on his knees and gasped for air while his eye caught a glimpse of the small hairs on his arm becoming longer and thicker until they had a vast resemblance of...
"Fur?!"
His arms, now covered in midnight black fur, began to throb as his fingernails grew sharp and curved and paw pads appeared on his palms. He began to hyperventalate as his fingers shrank in and completed his new fore paws.
"What's happening to me?!" he cried as the fur began to spread all over his body like wildfire.
He yelped in pain as he felt his legs shift and hear his bones grind and crack.
"What's wrong?" the umbreon teased. "The kit can't handle it?"
He clenched his teeth as his foot was shifted into something more like the creature of the night.
Riiiiip!!!!
Noah slowly rolled his eyes down and felt his new fur raise when his hind paw, poking out of his shoe. It wasn't long until pants ripped as well, making way for his new tail. He tilted his head back and saw the black tail with a gold ring sway majestically.
"And you thought that was bad? The fun part has just begun!" the umbreon exclaimed.
Suddenly, all of his nerves went off at an alarming rate as his head began to painfully morph. Noah, unable to do anything, gave a human mixed with an animal cry of pain as it became too much to bear and passed out.
Noah slowly opened his eyes as he panted and whimpered softly from the seemingly painful dream.
Thank god it was a dream, he sighed in relief as he slowly tried to get up.
"You're finally up kit," a familiar voice announced, "you shouldn't be trying to stand from your..sudden change."
He froze in fear as he watched the umbreon trot towards him and nuzzle his cheek.
"Breon bri!" he cried. "Bri? Umbreon bri!"
"I almost forgot, you won't be speaking human for awhile," she said before she began to lick his ear in an affectionate manner. "Don't worry boy, I'll show you how to survive as an umbreon."
Umbreon?!
He slowly glanced at a puddle on the moist grave and his eyes grew wide as he saw the creature of the night stare back at him. He began to whimper as the female umbreon continued to lick him and purred as she nuzzled under his chin. As the moon shone above the umbreon couple, Noah couldn't figure why the female umbreon seemed to be very attractive all of a sudden.
